Lightweight and durable!

I like the ability to fold it up for packing and carrying, it's strong and light! This is the perfect device for a backpack! =

Cons
  • All right

Nice addition to the cramped camera bag

The ability to fold the handle makes it easy to stow things in the camera bag when I want to use it. Well made except for the set screw on the hinge which is a bit odd but functional. I used it with my Nikon D750 with a 24-120mm lens and it worked fine.

Ideal solution: Professional video accessories

Got a pair of Canon G20s instead of xa10s. I see no reason to spend $600 on a pin and XLR. The Movo VH300 is therefore the perfect solution to take the weight of the video light, microphone and mixer off the camera, along with a carrying handle. And yes, it also attaches to my monopod and tripod. Costs money.

Cons
  • Good, but not great

strong tackle. Screws tight grip makes me nervous, though.

complete tools. The screw-on grip makes me nervous, but nothing Loctite wouldn't fix. An open channel on the back allowed me to add an accessory mount (small monitor, lights) in addition to the cold shoe mount on the handle. Sticking with a very light microphone (when traveling) and a small monitor made it reasonable even for a portable device. It's bulky but unlocks the potential of DSLR video, particularly image quality that's not possible with smaller sensors and slower lenses.

Much better than plastic grips

Very strong grip. I use it for an iPhone film set with the USB battery attached and I like its weight and strength compared to other plastic grips. The only downside is that being foldable the screw that holds the back of the handle upright can loosen a bit and I wish they had included rubber washers or something to increase the grip. It's smaller than the usual plastic handles, so it fits better in my bag without folding it. Overall happy with the purchase.
