Long-lasting Performance with Mr. Gasket 5960 Ultra Seal Exhaust Gasket Review

I have some vintage tractors and some old gas golf carts. I often need a gasket and have the tools to make the right size holes for screws etc. I made gaskets out of cork, felt and paper. I recently needed an exhaust pipe gasket. None of them were commercially available so I bought this liner. It was difficult to cut, but with the help of tools I was able to make a gasket. It works great and the cost for one sheet should be a lot of pads.

Great product. I made exhaust manifold gaskets out of it. It's not easy to work with, but you can make outside cuts with tin snips, holes with a hole punch or diamond hole saw, and any other inside shape with a small sanding drum on a cordless drill - use a template! Be careful how you handle it as it will fall apart if you bend or vibrate it too much. Several negative reviewers have had this issue - however the product is fine.

I have a set of Megan headers that came with an eBay gasket and then the Mr gasket was cut. Seal 77 suitable for my manifold flange. Can you guess what happened to them? The first broke in half, the 77th broke into 5 pieces and one of them flew out of my engine bay. Drive 7 hours and even run dashingly. And my headers are hot enough to cook a stew in minutes. Definitely recommend.

I needed a custom gasket but couldn't find one anywhere. That was my last resort. Don't forget to wear some kind of mask/respirator. This dust must not be inhaled!
