In August (2020) Epson released a firmware update that detects remanufactured cartridges and prevents the printer from using them. Until there is a solution, they will not work if your Epson WF-4740 received a firmware update. My printer was updated yesterday (10th August 2020) and the remanufactured black cartridge installed was no longer recognized by the printer. Then I unpacked and installed another cartridge. The printer doesn't recognize it either. Everything worked before the update.

The system has been updated after a power outage and now the cartridge is not recognized 50% used but it seems pssd that the chips are not "updated" before being accepted in updates if purchased/installed earlier. (Epson & HP suck for not recycling and killing landfills and people)

The best way to buy ink cartridges. Half the price and works great. I was a bit 'cautious' buying these 'Remanufactured' cartridges but they work just like new and cost a lot less!

I bought these a few months ago as a backup of the WF-4740 in my home office. The printer is in excellent condition, this is the first time I have replaced cartridges in this particular printer. No matter what I do, it doesn't recognize my cyan, yellow, and (1) black cartridges.
