Small round pieces of bamboo are simple and attractive. I got another brand with small, flat pieces of bamboo that won't lie flat no matter how hard I tried to get them to.

Light and strong, they sit flat too! Beware if you are sensitive to smells, they definitely have that sickening sweet and sour "wish package" smell that foreign packages often have and it's more pungent than other things I've ordered.

Black mats look beautiful, but they are very slippery. If you spill something on them and try to remove them, they'll take the "color" with them and look like a big gray spot, so don't use wet objects to clean. Finally, throw them away. Not sure what to use to prevent this and there will be no spills.
