I bought this because we live in the DC area and constantly bike around the Potomac and it gets very very windy. This face mask/hood is very soft and very comfortable. Has an adjustable drawstring/elasticated back panel for easy adjustment. Not only does it provide just the right amount of warmth, it also protects my face from burns/wind irritation. I didn't give 5 starts for convenience because my hair gets tied back in a bun every time I wear it. I work in the field and I can't help but wear my hair. I need to make an elastic whole at the top to perfect this. Otherwise it is warm and covers the ear, mouth and throat from the cold. In fact, I adapt it to my helmet.

I own over a dozen balaclavas and other hat, scarf and neck pad combos. I bought from easy to hard. (and from very expensive to very cheap) This option is ideal for almost any season of winter. Fit, comfort and breathability are perfect. I work until my youth. This is the average weight for warm. If it's around 40 degrees or more, it can be a bit hot. It's a bit bulky, but fits in any decent jacket pocket. I've been using it for several months and it's still in great condition.
