heavy duty case. I use it for my first aid kit

This seems to be a very bad case. I bought it to store the essentials (first aid kit) that I keep in my trunk. For that it works fine. It's not big enough to take up trunk space, but big enough to fit everything I needed. It's a tight fit but it works for me as the products inside don't rattle. It might be overkill for my purposes (it's a lot of hard work), but I'd rather have something overpowered than the other way around. I chose the version without overlays.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some problems

The first thing I did was cut a hole

The first thing I did was cut a hole in the side of this suitcase, waterproof means nothing to me. I needed a hard case for my distributor (Testo) to prevent it from crashing in my work truck and being pulled off the roof along with a bunch of other equipment. The body is solid, the locks are cool. With a hole in the side of the case, I can still stand on it and it remains stable (I'm 270 pounds). A little spray adhesive will hold the foam in place. I was so pleased with the quality of thisโ€ฆ

Best case I had

My roommate had a pelican and they are top notch. I have Nanux. They are stronger and the locking handles are safer and easier to use than the Pelican. Whenever I open the Pelican, I feel like I'll snap a nail or scratch myself because the latches are too hard to pull. With the Nanuk it closes tightly but there is another simpler clasp that you press which makes locking very easy. I have a feeling a kid could safely snap and open the Nanucks but not the Pelican. I often have to bang the handleโ€ฆ

Great light closures. Durable hard foam.

Great lightweight fasteners, sturdy foam. Both the Nanook and its well-known competitors are strong, waterproof, very durable and offer excellent foam protection. But Nanuk has MUCH LIGHTER CLOSURES without sacrificing quality or security. Nanook just smashed the other guys on the latch design. So easy, never hurts my old, slightly arthritic hands. Excellent. Nanuk foam is an ambiguous blessing. The foam is very, very hard. Very difficult to cut to fit my gear. Long slow process. I've triedโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for my project

We decided to use this case for a specific project where we needed a hard protective case in which to mount the internal bezel for the electronic controls. These housings are pre-configured with an inside edge for panel mounting. The edge even has screw holes, so installing our control panel is super easy. We tried other well-known cases, but we had to attach the faceplate with screws or rivets coming from the side of the case, which compromised the water resistance. These Nanuk cases are veryโ€ฆ
