Fixed my Kurgo Ascender dog leash

Great as a button replacement for my Kurgo Ascender dog leash. I used 3 zip ties to attach this latch to my leash as there was no other way to install it. This trigger serves as a handy lever for my thumb and is easy to open. I like this style of closure more than the traditional clip style found on most leashes.

Pros
  • Trial for a year
Cons
  • Available in white only

Small problem

Summary: Bought this and the bronze version for the dog leash. Pros: The stainless steel (SS) version is slightly larger and more powerful (see image). Works flawlessly. I was able to fix it by using a center punch and tapping the rivet to loosen it, after that it worked fine. A downgrade of one star for this issue, which should have been caught by my manufacturer's quality assurance program. Related Products: National Hardware N258-681 3180BC Trigger Snap in Solid Bronze

Pros
  • This is great
Cons

Dog leash, alternative clasp comparison

Update (6/14/20): Decided to try a smaller clasp (3180BC) for the harness connection point; Overall I think this is the best size for our 30th terrier. The added image shows a new smaller latch installed versus another larger latch. Update (06/06/20): The trigger lock stays good, our pup tried to pull with all his might and the trigger lock wouldn't disengage! In this respect, the leash is a climbing chain with which you can easily adjust to different lengths. Added a link to a similar one…
