The gel is not suitable for ants

The main problem with the blue gel is that it is poured in such a way that there is a gap on one side, so the ants fall down the column first and get stuck , and then one by one they try to save the other and pretty soon some of them get stuck and die. plus we had two of them and none of the ants ever made good tunnels. they only widened the side slit, but it wasn't fun to watch.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • A little torn

Perfect for a "baby " like me.

I've seen some bad reviews but that's what I had as a kid. (I'm 58, so that was five years ago. My 30-year-old sons are asking me if I'll ever grow up. NO!) I digress. This product was almost identical to the one I had. I received it today and will order my ants now. My 90 year old mother-in-law lives with us so we can take care of her. It will be a pleasant surprise for you. I highly recommend this if you are a 'kid' like me, or even for teenagers.

Pros
  • Easy installation

Not worth the time and money.

My husband and I were thrilled to get this for our very inquisitive 6 year old daughter for her birthday and she loved it but our returns policy is now a month up and we have had 2 deliveries and this is frustrating ants. We bought recommended ants and this company willingly sent out a second batch, but if they keep dying or arrive dead, they're of little use. At this point I don't need dead ants or a container, and I don't waste time dealing with them anymore. I have requested a refund for…

Not very good with science kits and toys

So the ants have only been digging for a week. Ants have to eat the gel - they don't (and maybe they stop digging because they're hungry or can't find food, they just dig to bury the ants after a while). The instructions say don't put in the sun, ventilate, don't feed, etc. Well, when most of the ants were dead, I put the farm directly in the sun, fed, and took off the top so it wasn't too lots of condensation and the ants got better almost immediately, but at this point they were too weak. I…
