So disappointed with this monitor. The device turned on with a charged battery, but after about 5 seconds you could hear a short in the battery as it quickly shut down and also turned off the live view on my Nikon DSLR. I tested this with 2 other batteries I bought and got the same result. I am returning this monitor and buying the same one in hopes of getting a working one. Even after reading some bad reviews I took a chance. I've found that most people are a bunch of whiny pricks. This monitor helped me a lot! My camera screen is not the best. It's a tiny 3 inches, but this monitor allows me to view my camera remotely with a HDMI connection cable from the monitor on a screen twice the size. The monitor is displayed in wide-angle mode, which actually enlarges the image without cropping it. Very happy with this monitor kit. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired, but it is sufficient for getting started with the monitor. With the controls at the bottom of the screen, navigating the limited information in the user manual wasn't difficult as it's immediately clear how they work and what you can do with them. WOW! I didn't know how much this would help me, but it's exactly what I needed. I work in the Digital Broadcasting Team and many sporting events, local outdoor events etc. I have a Canon VIXIA HF R800 mounted on a rail system with boom mic and light source. Basically, you're unlikely to be able to see the camera screen without something else, but installing it with a different mechanism makes that impossible. Installed this monitor and it was like night and day. I really see what I'm recording.
