You need them, even if you don't realize it yet.

Very cheap but appears to be well made. They're good for those random moments when you realize your gear doesn't fit in the rack you packed, even though you thought you double-checked before leaving and you're in the middle of a job haha .

Extremely thin with an off-center through hole.

This looked like what I wanted, but it was actually cut so thin and with fasteners so tiny that the horizontal through hole had to be machined off center to accommodate the set screw. This means that anything that hangs on a 1/4-20 bolt will not be properly balanced and will hang straight.

Looks and feels like part of my light stands. They fit perfectly and tighten perfectly.

A photographer friend of mine told me that I need an adapter for my light stand if I intend to use it with these smaller LED panels that I bought. I didn't even know they were a different size, but it was nice to know that the same company I bought the stands from also had the adapters I needed. The adapters look and feel like they are part of the stands. They attach very smoothly and tighten perfectly. The 1/4" screw cap not only fits the light bars I have, but for now that's all I use it for.
