Nelson-Rigg Black/Grey Hurricane Waterproof Backpack/Tail Pack Review

I had an earlier version of this bag that I use all the time. This new version looks better, has more features and I like the new strapping system. You literally get a free tie set with this bag.

Nelson Rigg usually makes reliable products and this is no exception. I decided to purchase after a design change to their 20L Hurricane backpack no longer allows it to be converted into a backpack. The construction is generally good with no loose stitching or frayed edges. Rigg Straps make it easy to attach it to your tail.

So this is actually the second Nelson-Rigg Hurricane waterproof backpack I've owned, one in every size. I've used them for motorbike rides, plane travel and for storing extra football uniforms on the field. Two out of three of these events took place in fairly heavy rain. The bag keeps my clothes dry. One of the best features of this bag is the air release valve. This allows excess air to escape from the bag, allowing it to shrink. If you're looking for a waterproof bag, make sure you have one.

Overall this is an amazing backpack. It's big, comfortable to wear, very durable and extremely waterproof. The included mounting straps are also a big bonus. I only have 2 complaints. The first little thing: there is almost no organization, it's just a large 30-liter cavity with a negligent laptop sleeve (there is one, but it doesn't protect your laptop in any way) and some kind of internal spider web. in case you want to do some DIY organization. At least I would like to see a keychain…
