These scissors worked great, my first time was great!

I've seen a few videos on u-tube on how to build a goat platform and trim the hooves. I built a platform and fed them on it, pet them, lifted their hooves and trained them to be lifted. When these trimmers arrived I was ready. they worked great. The goats were very happy and didn't seem to mind at all. excellent scissors. My research led me to them and they do a great job!

Pros
  • Blade tension can be adjusted and blades lock in place
Cons
  • weak

They work great for goats.

They are great for trimming my goats' hooves. They are trimmed twice a year at every haircut. They're nice and sharp and they're easy to use. I have small hands and I can use them comfortably without putting too much strain on my hands. They cut through the hooves very well. Have been using them for about 3 years now and they are still sharp and working well so far. I am satisfied with these claw trimmers. They work well for goats.

Pros
  • Polymer handles are durable and extremely comfortable to use
Cons
  • Out of style

Suitable for a few uses

I do not recommend these hoof trimmers. I've used them a couple of times on my 6 goats and a dozen sheep and the third time something broke so the scissor part didn't work. It's hard to explain, but you have to use both hands to manually open the blades, then cut, and then use both hands to open the blade again. Don't buy these trimmers. They came fast, they seem very strong, but they didn't hold me at all. They were great the first two times and the grip was comfortable

Pros
  • Blades are heat treated for the best combination of strength and hardness
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
