Stop thinking, reading, searching, just buy them. Our LOs have chubby little feet and definitely fit the XW better than the W - the velcro on them and the lack of elastic around the back of the tongue make these shoes PERFECT for chubby little feet. We bought her in three different colors and have worn her since she was 3T (now 6T).
