Scoop, but the quality scratches the bottom of the barrel. They only weigh 87 grams. My eldest weighed 111 grams. All three I've bought have workmanship defects, particularly on the handle and the rims of the bucket. It looks like they were made with a hand mill. The only reason I haven't sent them back is because I can't find a better 12 ounce metal scoop at the moment.

I wish I had read the customer reviews before buying these two aluminum scoops. Trust the reviews telling you that if you wash this spoon in an automatic dishwasher the surface will turn a matte dark gray leaving black on your hands. I won't even use it to scoop dry cat food and have ordered dishwasher safe stainless steel scoops instead. This is not the best value for money.

I bought this to use as a flour scoop and the bowl is a good size and shape BUT the tiny handle on this one is ridiculous! The bowl is just under 6" long with a 2 3/4" handle. maybe not bad for a 5 year old's hand size; but it's too small - and very uncomfortable - even for my small adult hands. I also bought the same stainless steel dustpan that Juvale sells - a bit more expensive at $8.99 but it has a great handle! Here are photos of both.

So the first one I bought was the smallest and it was absolutely miserable in size. Great quality but I have no idea what you will use it for unless your daughter is hosting a tea party and only wants to serve one ice cube at a time. The next and last time I bought a Scoop, I bought the largest size variant. Big mistake, this is an ice scoop, you can remove a 5lb bag of ice in under 3 seconds. I understand why it's "hand wash" only. The dishwasher (which I did despite the warning) is clearly too hot and "burns" the silver finish. After that, a dark residue, similar to chalk, remains on my hand and fingers. After seeing what happens when you expose a scoop to very hot water, I understand why it's "hand wash" only. But even knowing this, I still feel uncomfortable using a device that contains a foreign substance under a very, very thin layer of "silver."

I can scoop about 1 pound of flour out of the bag at a time with this scoop. This is the perfect size to fill my plastic airtight flour container (8-5); Three to four scoops are needed. Since the capacity is one gallon, I get about a quart or more per scoop, which is the advertised 36 ounce (volume) capacity. It is light, beautiful and feels comfortable in the hand. Made of stainless steel, it is also strong and durable. Very happy with this shovel.

To resolve some questions, comments and complaints. He is not big. Just under 9 inches, and the handle length is 2 7/8 of that, not enough for a full handle. I found I could wrap four gingers around the handle by hooking my thumb on the scoop.
