Good counter, dubious app.

My first impression is that this is a great anemometer for the price. I found the Weather Flow Wind Meter app more accurate than the Nikon app (on the Samsung Galaxy S3). I use this in conjunction with Strelok's ballistics app.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Compatibility

Not a bad little anemometer.

Works as advertised and cheaper than the one sold with the anemometer app. I mainly use it with the Wind Meter app. Starts registering about 2 miles per hour. The application can record your data for later viewing. Spotting scopes Nikon 16144 Spot On anemometer

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Very Expensive

blown away for electrics

Sounds like a good product but getting accurate wind data is very questionable. The calibrated wind speed, constant at 12.5 mph, shows 7.7 mph on a point wind gauge. Such a large discrepancy is unacceptable! Nikon has always had quality products. This product was a waste of my money and time. We hope Nikon fixes the issue before it affects sales of other Nikon products. The location on the anemometer is moved to the trash as soon as I press enter.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Protection

Easy to use for speedometer

Seems to be accurate although my blade is a bit heavy I'm not sure they all are. Easy to use, plug it into your headphone jack, launch the app and hold your phone in the wind. When I checked next to the weather station it was within a few miles per hour, I think the difference is that I'm on the ground and the readings are taken much higher off the ground. I use it with the WindMeter app so I can get data and then use it with Strelek Pro, much more options. I didn't bother with the Nikon app.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some little things

So far so good with meter

so far so good with meter. One thing to note when I first started playing around with the gauge, all I could get was a 2-3 mph wind reading. Speed. I checked the Weatherflow website and found in the troubleshooting information that the headphone volume should be turned all the way down on the Android device. I turned up the volume and now the meter reads fine. directly from the anemometer. So using this app is an added bonus.

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Ignore the bad reviews - it's the BOMB!

For reference, this Nikon branded device is EXAKT the same as the WeatherFlow anemometer found here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E9AF7ZU/ref=s9_simh_gw_g86_i3_r?ie =UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m =ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=0ZS4VKYVEJ7WCNFME83A&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop The only differences are the color scheme and the WeatherFlow block costs $6 and changes more (at the time of writing this article). What I bought is a branded Nikon. BOTH devices work…

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Requires Socket
