My kids got 2DS systems for Christmas 2 years ago. I got my son a new 3DS for Black Friday last year but never got it because I see conflicting information about whether 3D is good for younger children's eyes. I know you can disable it in parental controls but that never happened. So I sold that system on Craigslist and bought him this 2DS XL. He loves to. He thinks it's as good as my 3DSXL but cooler. All day he says he can't believe I gave him a good one while I'm still using the old one. I…

Exceptional budget system from Nintendo

General information on the new 2DS XL ------------------- -------- -- ------------------------------------------------------ ------ --- ----------- --------MSRP $149.99. I advise against paying more for this system. Inside the box, along with the console, are a basic instruction manual, augmented reality maps, and a power adapter. The top screen is about 4.88 inches long and the touchscreen is about 4.18 inches long. inches long. The screens are the same size as the new 3DS XL. You can play all

Lots of design issues - consoles

I originally bought one of the early 3DS models a few years ago. It had smaller screens, but since that was before the trend towards bigger screens on portable devices, I didn't really care. However, after playing my Vita almost non-stop for 3 years and then returning to the 3DS, I really wanted bigger screens. Of course I wanted the latest and greatest model, but the question was how much did I really use the 3D feature? The new 2DS XL is launched, which is essentially an updated, more…

  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

I have owned most versions of the Nintendo DS except for the Nintendo DSi or the original 2DS. Luckily I can say that this laptop definitely adds some improvements over the regular 3DS I had before buying it. that when turned on, the system worked much worse than usual. Also, trading for a larger screen size versus quality was fine with me as the actual drop in image quality is noticeable but certainly not bad. Swapping out the glossy black texture for a matte material was nice too, as the 3DS…

The perfect way to access the entire DS ecosystem without 3D

I once had a DS Lite on which I probably played more of the available catalog (NDS and GBA) than any other console. After a few years it ended up in a drawer and I ended up giving it to a friend who had a broken DS. I felt like I got more out of the system than my money's worth and turned to other things. I've missed the entire 3DS generation - I'm one of those people who gets nauseous if I watch a 3D movie for too long. , since the 3D effect was one of the first drivers of the system, I just…
