This is my third. They last about 15-18 months. I love it because it's so small that it easily fits in any pocket. The tools have only been used once (bottle opener while driving). Used dozens of times and never folded. This is a well made product. The elastic bands on the sides will tear over time. Good product I had the 1st version which only had a metal end and a thinner elastic holder which broke just after a year. That's the only reason I bought this one. It was great to have and the first one I've used quite a bit. So it's like an upgrade with two metal sides or pieces and the rubber seems thicker. Holds quite a lot. Just received this item and will be giving it away for a week or so. I am concerned that: 1) The edges are too sharp and will cut into my pockets and create holes. 2) The black rubber band holding the two panels together seems to do the job "too well"; quite difficult to dismantle the panels to get maps, money etc. 3) While the included rubber strap appears to be high quality, I'm wondering how long it will last.
