Fits Canon R5 on memory cards

Works well with my R5, took a few hundred photos on the trip, tried serial mode and 8K recording, no problem. I wasn't expecting much from this card but it suits me.

Pros
  • Optimized for 8K RAW continuous recording, up to 1500MB/s (write) and 1700MB/s (read)

  • Sad hardware

Does the job and ACTUALLY 512GB

Bought this card for my Canon R5 and it was great. I was hesitant to pick it up as someone in the review said it wasn't 512GB but turns out it's actually 512GB. I've tried several other 512GB cards I have and they all somehow end up under 512 in my camera; My Samsung SSD even shows it's only 465GB. I assume the camera calculates capacity differently. So I think this card is 512GB as advertised and it does the job so I'm very pleased.

Not really 512GB for memory cards

I got the card, put it in my R5 and went to format it to find out it's 476GB not 512GB! I converted it to 8k 24p 12-bit RAW using the Kolari Vision Heatsink mod and got a solid 476GB 28:11 single file! I want the card to be the stated size and I got what I paid for but it's not so I'm returning it. It would be great if the company would contact me and help me get the size card I paid for.

It unlocks all shooting modes of the Canon R5.

I haven't had a chance to use this in production yet. However, after formatting, all shooting modes are unlocked on the Canon R5. Filmed several videos for several minutes in different modes. Everything worked. I'll adjust my rating if I see things differently.

Works well with my R5, took several hundred photos on the trip, tried burst shooting and 8K capture, no problem. I wasn't expecting much from this card but it suits me.
