Nocona Men's Black Inlay Middle Boots Review

I ordered the Nocona Cognac Ostrich and Top Hand Black Middle Inlay straps because all my old western style straps were outdated and no longer fit. These straps are the perfect width, genuine leather, and look better than expected. The buckle that comes with it is easy to remove, but I'd be proud of the quality. They are of great value and I am completely satisfied.

The silver trash buttons all over the belt are not visible in the photo. They look awful, the belt buckle can be replaced with a prettier one, but the buttons on the belt itself can't be fixed.

Great packaging and I love the look of the belt. Someone spent some time designing this belt. The buckle has a nice Spanish/Mexican design and is easily interchangeable, the prong holes are reinforced with a leather strip (latch?) to prevent the fold from easily breaking and detaching from the end of the belt. This is a beautiful well made belt. My only problem is the size. I wear Wrangler 32x34 jeans so I ordered a size 34 belt. If the belt fits properly around my waist, I only have one gap before the belt stops working for me. The belt is too small in my opinion. I usually buy belts in size 34 and have 3 to 4 expansion slots.

I have had many Nocona straps and they have all been well made. This one is no exception. Leather, seams, finishes - everything is perfect. However, describing this topic may require some effort. I ordered the color "black" and noticed in the picture that it was half black and half brown. This works fine for me, but be warned if you're looking for a full black belt. Some decorative sewing threads were not adjusted correctly. They are tied in a knot and I stuck them in the holes with the end of a paperclip - now they are perfect. I put on a belt and no problems. Looks very nice with 4 silver buttons and brown insert. I have 2 other western style belts that are over 35 years old and the stitching will wear down with normal use but hey most clothes don't last that long. I ordered one too long and sent it back, the return came in less than a week.

This belt fits just as expected. The buckle change closure is strong, the stitching looks even and secure. It's not thick enough to carry a gun around, at least not on the hips, but it looks great with jeans or chinos.
