Description of The North Face Thermoball Insulated Traction Mule V: Men's Slip-On Boot

100% recycled PET ripstop. Rubber sole. FORM MEETS FUNCTION. Warm and comfortable ThermoBall Eco insulation is paired with a high-traction rubber outsole to make these slip-ons ideal for base camp, après or shuffling out for the morning paper. WATER-RESISTANT. Made with a 100%-recycled upper and finished with a Durable-Water Repellent (DWR) finish to help keep feet dry. RECYCLED INSULATION. Take on the cold with superior warmth and recycled materials. Thermoball Eco uses small, round synthetic fiber clusters that closely mimic the way down insulates: trapping heat within small air pockets for warmth retention. RECYCLED OUTSOLE. Move around confidently and with a clear conscience thanks to a 40%-recycled rubber outsole with supreme traction. From basecamp to peak, you'll love the ability to stay grounded and maintain traction. TAKE ON THE DAY. An essential closet staple, this boot is a go-to classic anytime. Enjoy a comfortable fleece collar lining and a collapsible heel with elastic side panels for easy on/off. Proudly wear these as a badge of exploration with The North Face.

I think the padding should be softer.

It felt like stepping on hard wood. I wanted to use a shoe last myself. The lining is not plush like I thought it would be. It's a little hard. Well-made, warm shoes.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some flaws

Poor Quality: Outdoor

Love that they are fluffy inside and warm and waterproof. My husband says they are sometimes too warm for him. Update*** I gave these to my husband for Christmas and some of them had the whole inside come out and is now a sticky foam to walk on.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors

Stylish but not functional.

I bought these to replace my indoor shoes. They weren't even close in comparison. No support, just a flat insole. They didn't seem to be very durable and couldn't withstand prolonged use. I returned them. They turn out about half a size smaller. I'm a Northside fan, but this product needs some work.

Small size - hiking and trekking

I was very happy to try them. I figured my winter walks with the dog would be a little more comfortable and my legs stay nice and toasty. Unfortunately, I could hardly get my foot in when trying them on. I usually wear between a 10 and 10.5 and a size 10 that fits like a size 9. I would recommend going a size up if you're in between, which I'll try next. I took off a star for the uncomfortable fit.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Great slippers, best on the street

First I measured my feet with socks on. Came for 10 5/8. I ordered 11s and they fit well and are comfortable. Likes: warm, comfortable, great grip. The sole is really grippy and strong. There is no artificial arch support and the shoes are comfortable both in socks and barefoot, I prefer socks to keep the inside clean. The earbuds are removable, but I haven't thought about cleaning them yet. Shoes (slippers)? are top notch.

Shut up and buy now

- I live in Texas - They are better quality than I expected - I wear a 10.5 but ordered 10, 11 I think would fit better - The sole appears to be made from recycled tires. Firmly. Firm - Very warm, sometimes my feet sweat when it's not cold enough outside - Upper made from a similar material to their puffy jackets but much more durable - Black synthetic tape around the sole - Lovely details allow them to be worn outdoors when wet, and do not dab the edge where the top of the slipper meets the…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Fail. Because of the stupid label.

So disappointed with this pair of slippers. I wear size 10.5 shoes and bought a size 11. They fit once, but the hole is too small and it becomes uncomfortable to put them on with two hands. More importantly, an extra label is sewn into the sides of each slipper to separate the hem. This is not a label with size and care instructions - everyone has them - just a thin rigid label printed with the names ThermoBall and PermaLoft. Well, I'm one of those crazy people who walk around sockless in…

I might even buy a pair!

I saw one from a friend. In fact, he came over from upstate New York to have Thanksgiving with us and then came back. He said they were incredibly comfortable and he went outside in the snow, walked around the cabin all day, drove for hours and he loves them! Another friend of mine has these terribly torn slippers to bury, so I bought them for him for Christmas (open early). He loves her too! Allusion to the girl in camouflage for me! Another home run from The Northface! (I have their…

Narrow and tight around the ankle.

Although the color is very attractive and they are soft I am disappointed in their fit compared to 4 pull mules. I'm also unhappy with how the outside seams look compared to the 4th. The way the 4s are sewn flexes more naturally with the foot. They flex with a "blockier, bulkier" feel. I LOVE Thermoball Traction Mule 4 (black pair with gray triangles in my photo) but this is Traction Mule 5 (grey pair in photo). I got excited when I thought the 5's were a newer version of the 4's. However…
