Fun, personalized coffee!

I like this list. I added three scoops (provided by Kugel) of green raw Nicaraguan coffee. First over high heat on an electric stove to heat up the roaster, it took about two minutes to get hot enough to shake and stir the coffee. At this point I also lowered the temperature to medium. You can see right through the opening to get the coffee to the level of darkness you need. It took me about 10.5 minutes to get it to a medium roast. I took it off the burner and blew into the hole in the grill…

The little roaster that could.

Just finished 12th roast. Works great for frying. Beans are very stable. I made an American roast in Spanish - it can do anything. I typically heat it to 350 (check with a laser thermometer), then add 1/2 cup beans and toss the mug for 8-11 minutes, depending on how roasted you want it to be. Buy a good MiG welding glove that is comfortable to hold. And cool the beans on a thick large / oven tray. Go outside and toss the beans between two colanders/bowls/pots and blow to clear the chaff. Enough

Buy this amazing work of art 👍

I've been roasting coffee beans myself for over a decade, so had enough experience to use this charming ceramic roaster without suffering any major mishaps like wild bumps roasting with some burnt and unroasted grains. The Nuvo could be a tea leaf roaster repurposed to roast coffee beans. My expensive Gene Cafe stopped working a few days ago so I ordered it to be used until I get up the Gene Cafe and Beg. I placed my order on Friday evening and Revain delivered it on Sunday morning before the…

So cool, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I've wanted to roast my own coffee beans for so long and I'm over the moon to find this simple and affordable ceramic roaster. Rating: * Pros: Incredibly cheap! No aluminum or plastic! Simple design! Ideal for small batches! (Currently, I'm the only coffee drinker in my family, so I'll never be able to finish my 1kg packs of store-bought roasted beans before their 1-week peak (and the flavor is starting to fade) .which means I'm constantly throwing away beans (I compost in the…

A small brazier that

I started frying a few years ago. Rather than going the easy route first, I decided to purchase a $500 roaster and was happy to roast my own beans and control the quality. The brazier I bought was a mix of glass, metal and heat resistant plastic. I've always been surprised by the plastics in this equation and I figured they added flavor to the beans as the temperature went up, but I had no choice but to move on because roasting is better than no roasting. About three years later, I decided to…
