The screen becomes quite transparent once you remove the protective case. The shield barely covers the face area as the sides come down to the front of my plaids and I have a smaller female face. The slit at the top was too far from the forehead. As soon as I applied the screen protector, one of the plastic latches started opening and the plastic screen fell off. The idea was good, but the shield failed.

I use this shield regularly. No problem until winter. Slight inconvenience of fogging the shield when walking out in the cold and then entering the building. I also wear varifocals. The plastic shield causes additional distortions in my field of view. Another bug I've found is that the bottom of the shield touches the collar and lapels of my winter coat and just gets in the way - too many layers of 'things'.
