These little trinkets are a great way to make sure your face masks are customizable. I bend open most of the paperclip, thread the "U" through the silicone, thread the rubber band through the metal loop and pull through. That's what other reviewers said, and it's true. Quality control is not perfect. There was one (unusable) badly shaped cord lock in the bundle, but the rest was fine. In general they work fine. Since the elastic I bought in July started to shrink (after many washes) I decided to replace the old elastics with longer ones. Not only does this allow me to add extra length to compensate for the gradual shrinkage of the elastics, but it also allows each family member to adjust the elastics as needed.

Unlike the company that sold me my first batch of cord locks of this type, this batch had not only 100 of them but an extra two. I was concerned about the size of the holes in this batch. The original cord locks of this type that I bought had a large solid part on one end and a very small part on the other end.
