I ran a page through the scanner once and the next scan was sharp again. I saw that the first scan after going through the page through the scanner was most likely wiping off some residual black ink, but after that there was no problem. This completely fixed my scanner blurring. A third of my scanned pages were blurry which got me to the point where I was considering buying a new scanner because no matter what I tried it didn't solve the problem. i have had an epson 1430 artisan for years. While I cleaned and calibrated the printheads, it printed great photos. New is pretty expensive these days. When the paper stopped moving, I was alarmed. I had problems with my Epson P400 printer feeding thick photo paper. After skipping the cleaning sheet a few times, I had no problem pulling through thicker photo paper. I now use cleaning wipes regularly to avoid this problem. I'm so glad the issue is resolved because I love my printer and love using thicker photo paper.

Let me say I don't like the price but they work. I scan a lot at work and will probably need to upgrade to a dedicated scanner. Of the three printers I have, all of the auto-feed scanner rollers were so dirty that they showed streaks when the scan went through and was converted into a PDF file. . They are wet when opened but tend to dry quickly so I used one for each scanner supply roller and then flipped them over and fed them through the printer rollers after which they dried. A bit overpriced for price related quantity. The old printer collects a lot of ink when first used. I use an additional solution and run it 3 or 4 passes on a sheet. Then I use a new sheet and it does a great job of clearing the paper path. Once the printer is cleaned well, occasional use will keep it clean by repeatedly using the same sheet.
