After about two years the piston started to lose pressure and now I have to manually lift it before I can sit down. I used to have piston failures in Office Star chairs. The chair itself is fine and still looks good.

I also got a lot of money for this supposedly used chair but it arrived disassembled in brand new condition including unopened hardware. It took quite a bit of time to assemble, and I did it without any help! Like a good mattress or sofa, it will take some time to break in, especially since it's not made entirely of leather. Would give 4 stars but this product has one key flaw. more spent > Build Quality Review The chair itself can be divided into 4 parts; Backrest, seat, armrests, base. The backrest is not attached to the seat; screwed into the armrests at 4 points (2 on each side). The same goes for the seat with 4 more screws. This is my first review. The chair arrived quickly, inexpensively and was easy to assemble. The burgundy vinyl is very dark, more brown than red, and doesn't look very leathery, but still looks attractive. There is a slight plastic smell, but that will pass over time. This is not a comfortable chair - the seat, armrests and backrest are quite firm. Lumbar support is very pronounced.
