Pretty good digital voice recorder

I like the wide layout. It has a number of attractive useful features. I especially like the HQ option. This device is also quite easy to use.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Big and chunky

SHIPPED VERY OLD but paid for in 2015 PRICE

is a very old boxed item. The Duracell batteries that came in that fully sealed plastic package were old and the acid on those batteries rubbed off the white acid.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works perfectly! suitable for portable audio and video devices

I have already bought 2 and will buy more. The fact that they also connect digitally to a PC is amazing for the price. The buttons are well placed and the sound quality and speaker are good. You can't beat this price of $12 and $17 for repairs. They came in new packaging and apparently new units too.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Empty

fairy items! - Portable audio and video device

It's perfect for what I use it for. I'm one of those women who always forgets something. I use a Dictaphone when I need groceries or something to pick up, write my own note and then at the end of the day review it and mark it on my calendar. This works great when you just need an extra reminder like me!

Pros
  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Some problems

Olympus = Bad People

I bought this about a year ago and threw away the installation CD. I assumed the software would be available over the internet. I was wrong. I called tech support and they said I had to buy another machine to get the CD. They try to rip people off. Stay away. Without software, you cannot get sound through the PC/USB interface. Generic drivers do not work.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • This bothers me

No Vista Driver

I have 2 of these recorders and they work great. could not find any additional driver information on the Olympus website. An email sent to Olympus gives me an automatic acknowledgment of receipt but never a reply. Hopefully one day Olympus will release a driver for Vista.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price

Support after buying Olympus - missing

So - get started! I thought I had found the answer to my search - a relatively cheap voice recorder with a PC connection - amazing! The dictaphone is of pretty good quality, the voice is distorted towards that cheap microphone wine we so dread - when the voice of all mankind rings out. the same - but not enough to bother you! I was very happy with it, value for money until it was time to connect so I could download the captured gems of wisdom hey what you know! on an XP machine with SP2…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
