So - get started! I thought I had found the answer to my search - a relatively cheap voice recorder with a PC connection - amazing! The dictaphone is of pretty good quality, the voice is distorted towards that cheap microphone wine we so dread - when the voice of all mankind rings out. the same - but not enough to bother you! I was very happy with it, value for money until it was time to connect so I could download the captured gems of wisdom hey what you know! on an XP machine with SP2 installed and it is not recognized! So, a quick look around the office and I said it's okay - I threw away the installation CD (who would have thought the recorder wasn't XP compatible! it came out a year ago!), but everything is fine because I have it network! big mistake in my assumption - i really don't understand why, but there is no driver on the internet - on the olympus website where you would think the driver would be - it isn't - so not that it even says that it is so 2000 and XP should be recognized! Now I find out, after 3 computers, different brands and hardware, different XP settings (home and professional, SP2 and without) and still no detection, still no download of information - I still can't use the registrar, but I can't still throw it off in frustration and frustration, I want to hit it with a hammer but I need information, I want it back but I need information and so on - the only choice I have is to buy another one and return it! WHEN OLYMPUS WANTS TO FOLLOW THIS BUSINESS MODEL IN THIS TIME AND ERA, I AM AMAZED.
