OLYMPUS OM-D E-M1X is perfect

I am a semi-professional photographer and have been taking photos for over 40 years. I have used Hasselblad, Canon and Olympus devices (M1 M2). The OMD M1X is by far the best camera I have ever used. The original price of $3,000 put me off, but when I saw it on Revain for $1,749 I bought it without hesitation. No regrets at all :)

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • sad packaging

Soft mechanism with very accurate RAW format recording

Despite connoisseurs claiming that there is no advantage in buying this over the last omdom when they reduced the price by 1/3 up to $2000 off I couldn't resist even though I have almost everything they made. Without going into too much detail, this camera is used for commercial ads and I'm having trouble matching the color. I'm shooting in RAW format and the viewfinder seems to be picking up true colors. This requires very little color correction in Lightroom. And the "click" exhibition sounds

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

Great camera! - Digital Cameras

I am a wildlife photographer and have switched from an em1 Mark II for everyday trips but still use a second Mark II as a backup and usually with a shorter lens. To answer a comment in a very positive review, I never open the battery compartment. It's nice to be able to charge it by plugging in the same cable I use for my Android phone! It charges in about an hour. Nice! ND modeling is so much fun! The high resolution of the handheld is also a blessing. Now I can shoot or splash in the rain…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Thoughts of a professional Olympus photographer

I love this camera as I often shoot weddings and portraits. I shoot a lot in portrait, so I need the built-in grip. Everything about this camera is an upgrade from my E-M1 Mk II, day and night performance, everything from power on time to focus lock has been improved. Not to mention this is the best built in camera I've ever had in my 35 years as a photographer (former Nikon full frame photographer), I could go on all day but the simple fact is that if you invest in micro 4 /3 is the best of…

Pros
  • Cool

  • Lots of stuff

Incredible camera! Best in Digital Point and Shoot Category

I love travel photography and my Olympus OMD EM-1 Mark ii has been my constant companion for the past few years. When Olympus launched this E-M1X I had to admit I was hesitant to get it, but the 50MP HD handheld footage of the E-M1X lured me in and I was blown away! The fact is, this camera offers MUCH more amazing things. It's VERY FAST, packed with high-tech features like a built-in ND filter, top-notch stabilization, real-time compositing, image merging, HDR, etc. etc. And I've already…

$3,000 Olympus bug.

Olympus makes some of the best cameras in the business, they really do. I have used most of the cameras and they are great. Autofocus, speed, colors, looks - it's all there. My current camera is the EM1 Mark II and it's fantastic. You are probably wondering why this camera has 2 stars. Well, first off, the image quality is identical to the EM1 Mark II. There hasn't been any advancement in the sensor since 2016, and having the same sensor in a $3,000 camera is shocking. I don't understand why…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Photography has been my hobby for about 20 years. I switched from DSLR to mirrorless about 3 years ago when mirrorless became equal or even better than DSLR. I currently have Sony A7R3, Canon EOS R5 and Panasonic G9 + lots of lenses. I bought this Olympus camera with Olympus 300mm f4 PRO lens as I needed a lightweight (non FF) trail camera to use when I don't want to carry around a full frame Canon plus a huge 500mm f4 lens /can and I chose to use an Olympus body to have dual IS with the…

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Can I add something
