Wrong Size: Heater

This is advertised by everyone saying it would work on a 1974 Jeep CJ5. The holes in this product are 1 3/8" apart (center to center). The 1974 Jeep CJ5 has a 2 3/8" spacing heater core inlet/outlet pipe. A person can try to change the holes and make it work, but it doesn't work. looking good makes that part of my knowledge useless.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Wire shorter than others

Decent choice for heater core rebuild

After reading the reviews I was skeptical about buying this to replace my CJ-7 for my rebuild. There were only a few options, and I chose them. I decided to reduce its thickness and drill holes a little more. A little modification and it goes well with the Spectra Premium heater core replacement product.

Pros
  • Engine cooling and climate control
Cons
  • Received nuances

The thinner the better: Heater Cores

I was unable to reinstall the entire heater assembly on the inside of the Jeep firewall because the gasket was too thick. I removed the seal and compared it to my old one, then trimmed it down about 1/3 to make it thinner. Once that was done, voila, with a little push and pull, I popped the heater assembly back into my 1978 CJ-5, bolted it on, and finished the rest.

Pros
  • Heater Cores
Cons
  • Some Difficulty
