I am a radio amateur using mainly VHF-UHF. I used different antennas to see what works and what doesn't. This antenna works.

Fits directly to my Baofeng UV 5R with no problems, now I can listen to broadcasts and send without problems. My previous antenna was 4 years old and worn out from heavy use.

Bought 2 and slightly different compared to the original: slightly longer, smoother plastic structure, the label on the bottom is different. But SWR was 1.3 on VHF and 1.1 on UHF so they should work fine. Didn't compare actual range to original. I seem to have a few good ones, luckier than other buyers. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a chance to test the ones you have with either an SWR meter or a network analyzer like the NanoVNA (which I bought from Revain and really like).
