We decided to buy this for our 3 year old nephew based on the durability of the device which we have had for about six years. My son got it when he was four, just turned ten and still goes and drives in the garage or driveway. It may take a few minutes for kids to get comfortable, they make small back and forth motions (maybe around 15 degrees) with the steering wheel to get them moving. If you turn it all the way like a steering wheel, you turn but don't move forward. I don't think anyone will
