Pickup sounds better than my 447. Also, the needle doesn't need to be retracted. Another plus is that the needle is much stronger than the 447 needle. I would highly recommend this cart. Just wondering when will Ortofon start selling the stylus itself? Oh, and the #2 pen is great for scratching!

Excellent ammo period. I love it. I'm the turntable type, be it real vinyl or dvs controlled vinyl. It is excellent. I had 3 different needles/probes. I, II and III. Each of them has its own characteristics. The difference lies in the flexibility/stiffness of the cantilever. This is excellent value for money.

So I have two Shure M447s that have seen better days, Ortofon OM Qberts and a pair of Ortofon OM Pro S. These Ortofon VNLs are great DJ styluses and they sound very good. They track well and work like a dream out of the box. I use the "2" needle that comes with the kit, but it's nice to have two extra needle changes in the box. I mainly use Serato DVS, but I also use analog vinyl. They definitely sound better than my M447 on analog vinyl. and the output power doesn't really matter. They're loud

I wanted to keep using old style cartridges so I could keep using Technics cases so I tried some old Stanton and Shure ones - Keep pickups running. with fake (Jico etc.) needles. But nothing really worked and I was ready to give up and buy one of the Ortofon DJ cartridges that look like a space needle. Luckily I waited long enough and Ortofon released this cassette. This is a great deal, stable enough for my clumsy scratching, and they sound a lot better than the fake styli I've been using…
