Very interesting musical instrument!

This is sooo cute! my daughter loves it I even think it's fun to play. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but still works great. The most important thing to know is that you need smaller hands to play without calluses or it won't work. It didn't work with my husband's hands, but my daughter and I could play it normally. It contains one song that was easy to play and you can find other songs to play.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Has been damaged

I really hate musical toys

My friend asked for one of these for Christmas and I assumed it was for my 4 year old nephew. Nooo. Now I hear the beautiful music of Legend of Zelda, Studio Ghilbi and everything he finds on YouTube on the highest and loudest "musical instrument". I would steal it and send it back when it's at work but he takes it to work to show his friends ;_; It works as intended but I had to give it 4/5 stars due to my poor hearing.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

I got this for my 7 year old niece's birthday and I think it would be the best gift. First, it's a unicorn, second, it makes noise, third, you can do creative things with it. I wanted to put the batteries in before packing. Accepts 3xAAA. It's something like a slide whistle. Played with it for a few minutes. It is fun! I generally don't buy birthday presents for children over 20-25€ and the price is right. Definitely a great creative toy that will annoy the birthday boy's parents for a long…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • No machine

Nice present; Small for the price

My kid wanted an Otamatone for his 18th birthday and I chose this one because of the color and price. It wasn't until it arrived that we realized it was smaller than the average Otamatone that was the same price. It's great and she's having fun with it, but its size makes it sound bigger than the other Otamaton. The size makes it convenient to store and carry. Check again if the features are what you want in terms of price and sound. This Otamatone arrived beautiful, well made and boxed ready…

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Looks good but not worth it

We bought two of these for my granddaughter's birthday. The first didn't work at all. We were outside the return policy. So we bought her another one and it worked for a while and then stopped. She brought it for Christmas and it didn't work. They're fairly neat, but short-lived. It made her happy, so it was good if she could use it. Her mother tried to get another one, but she couldn't because the return period had expired. Maybe the battery is dead, I don't know. Some may have had more…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Only lasts about 6-7 months even if you handle it gently.

Ugh. While this was great fun for my daughter, it only lasted about 7 months before it just stopped working. Same with my son! Which is a shame because it was a fun (if annoying) little toy that they could easily throw away so it wouldn't be so annoying lol. And now I'm buying a different kind hoping it will last longer and it really annoys me that I'm spending money on a different one. And although the one I bought was for my kids, they were very gentle with them! They do not tolerate…

  • Durable Finish

The Most Glorious Otamatone

When I first opened the box, the clean, colorful Unicorn Otamatone greeted me with a sweet smile. The pull of this immediately took me down to the basement, where I frantically dug up three AAA batteries to bring this beautiful machine to life. Climbing up the stairs with a screwdriver in one hand and batteries in the other, I quickly unscrewed a small panel that contained nothing but a battery slot. Although I had a hard time getting the batteries in properly (which is my problem), I quickly…

Pros
  • Sturdy Construction
Cons
  • Poorly Thoughtful

Proof that Music is Subjective

I got this on a whim because, well, because they're watching! Of course, I didn't expect anything from it, except novelty. But then I took it out of the box, turned it on and started playing around with it. It's damn cool. I'm just a campfire guitarist now, so maybe my opinion doesn't have the sincerity of someone who's been into music and instruments. But you don't have to spend time at Berklee College of Music to see that the otamatone does what the piano, violin, oboe, and harp do: play…

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Disappear
