Works perfectly. in Antennas

Installed on a larger old outdoor TV antenna, it worked great and the picture quality is excellent. Solid copper wires for connector and outer protective cap. installed this for my older friend. He is so happy with the picture quality when switching from an old two-wire antenna to a digital TV signal over coax.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE - Accessories and Consumables

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! I am familiar with antennas, televisions and home cinema devices. We have been planning and installing them for decades. These baluns were needed to install a pair of matching antennas in the attic for off-air HDTV reception. They're so thin that you can't even hand-tighten the coax cables without loosening and twisting the screw connection. around the body! I wouldn't pay 5 cents for that! Luckily I found a matching Channel Master Balun to use with the old one I had.

  • Pleasant to use

A quality product in the accessories and consumables section

Quality transformers! I recommend replacing the typical thin wire transformers that come with your indoor/outdoor antenna with this one. Copper is the same gauge as RG 6 coax and is better suited to corrosive environments. I want to say that I had the opportunity to compare and match these transformers with the exact location of the antenna, that is, replace the old with the new, but I did not. What I can say is that with a "clean" direct line about 40-50 miles from the antenna stations, I'mโ€ฆ

Garbage. Not weatherproof. Falling apart

When I hand tightened the cable everything fell apart. It has a thin, unsealed cot that just snaps open. Apply too much torque to the 75 ohm cable connector (finger tight) and the fork end will twist, tearing the sheathing and twisting the inner wires together. waste of time and money. Update: I reinforced a transformer by tying it together with a zip tie to keep it from falling apart, shrinking and sealing with hot glue. PITA gave me a working impedance matching transformer though. Photo: Left

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Cylinder not securely attached to body

Reasonable gauge wires and solid copper. However, if you pull the F connector of the coaxial cable onto the threaded sleeve, the sleeve begins to rotate in the plastic housing. You need a mechanically strong connection when using an outdoor antenna in Nordland. I needed one of these three. The first one was definitely broken because I didn't notice the barrel turning and only noticed that it never tightened. The hull broke in one place. So, I was very careful with the second one and everythingโ€ฆ

  • Not the best

1 out of 3 just fell apart. Others are full of water.

Very poor quality. 1 out of 3 just fell apart. Upon closer inspection, I saw poor design and poor assembly. The cuff does not cover the ends of the compression cable. Salon is not even properly soldered. Impossible to tighten properly as it only rotates in the housing. I don't understand how this is advertised as weather protection. Look elsewhere for your outdoor balun needs. Edit: The signal quality is steadily decreasing. Two that didn't fall apart, full of water after just a few lightโ€ฆ
