This is a gift for my grandson. I have the same hat in the adult model. It's very warm for its weight, effectively keeping ears warm, its low profile matches other hats and helmets, and packs easily into pockets. Its effective range is 0-35 degrees. F for moderate training. Outdoor research does good.

I thought I'd order a hat for adults. The list is somewhat misleading. However, I ordered a large / X-large and it fits an average adult head, or at least my average adult head. But most of all it fits great, is very warm, windproof and fits under a baseball cap if you want to wear a cap over a cap.

great hat! Keeps my boys warm and dry and fits perfectly. My twins are 7 years old and have medium sized heads. I bought a medium/large and it fits great. I usually have a small adult beanie and I can wear this beanie as well, except it starts to get a little stuck in my ear when I wear it, probably because it's too small.
