My son has a 6 1/2 boy shoe which is comfortable and a little heavy but helps keep his feet secure when hiking. He's been wearing it for about a month, the stitching is still there, the shoes are all in place, and inside the soles are in place. When my son outgrows this pair I will buy another pair and it will be worth it.

Update: These are great for DRY hikes - they are not waterproof at all and the traction lug rusts very quickly after a hike with a few muddy puddles. In the end we only bought very warm wool socks and put on rubber boots for hiking. Excellent quality. My kid is pretty picky about shoes but these shoes are badass. We have taken them on several trips and he loves them.
