USB charging socket to standard sockets

If you're thinking of adding this to your old home, think about it. Sometimes they don't fit in the metal boxes that were used in the past. The code did not require all metal junction boxes to be a specific size to accommodate these new outlets built as they are now. If your house was built before 1970 like mine was, you may have trouble getting the wiring behind the outlet housing. However, it works great in my new house, built in the late 70's. And it WORKS GREAT in this house. My advice…

One out of four outlets failed

Three out of four outlets worked as expected. When I tried to put something in the fourth it was very difficult and I think something might have broken inside. I have no power at any outlet. I checked with an extension cord that the switch lights up indicating the power is always on. I could shake the cord and/or tap the outlet and the power LED on the bar would flicker for a moment. UPDATE: 4 out of 8 I've bought now are out of order - any similar AC problems won't work. One had a funny problem where only one of the two sockets worked at a time - real cheap junk. I would not recommend it and I am currently removing the remaining 4 sockets and throwing them away before they fail at the worst possible moment.
