Breathe in the cold air

Air conditioning didn't come on at the start of the season. Where I live it's 60 degrees one week, 90 the next. There's nothing worse than the first day it's hot and your air conditioner won't turn on. A quick do-it-yourself test showed that the contactor didn't click. The old man was 20 years old, so hey, he had a good run. Goed through the specs and found these referenced. Packard seemed like a respectable name, so I went with it. I turned off the power, swapped the wires with this one and 30

Good replacement contactor at a great price.

Good contactor to replace obsolete original Honeywell. Be sure to replace the single pole 30A contactor with a 12V coil, one on the right hand side. Take a picture of the old contactor and connections before disconnecting any wires. Be sure to turn off all power to the AC unit before performing any work. Do not attempt this unless you are an electrician, engineer or have a good general knowledge of electricity as the potential is 220 volts. So be extra careful, wear protective clothing and…

I ordered this contactor - overnight delivery - from Free Shipping LLC on Thursday. I received it on Friday at 3pm b4 and installed it later in the day. 3 days and so far everything works. I'll have to wait and see how long it lasts. The same contactor (same manufacturer and same part number) was installed on my heat pump in the summer of 2012. It worked intermittently the following winter and finally went out of service this summer - summer 2013. I'll be sure to check a new contactor every…
