Excellent tool for copying existing images into new ones

I like how easy it was to set up, and that there are so many options you can use to create your own unique image! There's not much I dislike about this program at all. It does exactly what I want it do - packer makes it very simple to build exact copies of my base AMI each time. The only thing I wish was more obvious were the logs / output files, but they're in the same folder as the.pack file. So just be sure to know where those go before you run things. Easy tooling and better integration into Jenkins

The best thing about packer is its ability to build multiple VM image with same base OS, which can be easily used in CI/CD pipeline. Pros
  • Easy way to understand
  • Customizable scripts
  • Can add custom code while executing command line steps.
  • Ease installation process across Linux platforms
Cons
  • I will keep silent

Easy and affordable way for continuous deployment

I like how easy it was to set up, configure & maintain this product across all my environments (Dev/Test /prod). It's also very flexible when you want your solution architecture changes are not always straight forward or possible with other products out there in market place that do similar things as packers but can be more costly compared tooo others so worth considering! Nothing really at present although we have used some of its features which has been great - especially if using VMs where…

Pros
  • Easy way for me to deploy updates consistently without disrupting services from production environment.great toolset available today even though i'm now working remotely..I am able work effectively wherever is convenient due topacker being an effective alternative ! :)
Cons
  • Not much just wish support could speed better because sometimes service might get interrupted while doing upgrades
