Works well but I'm not impressed with the longevity. If you need something that doesn't bleed when you paint, you might want to try a different tape.

This set of blue straps is great for us. I bought this to fix the paper pattern on my dress. Since then we have found many uses for it. We use it to mark leftovers in our fridge.

This is one of the cheapest masking tapes I've ever used. Sometimes it's so sticky that it won't come off the roll without tearing. Once applied to the surface, it doesn't want to stay. Using a heat gun when removing the roll will help both, but you're probably better off buying slightly better quality ribbon.

The largest strap covers the humbuckers perfectly and the smaller straps cover the neck. I only had to cut the tape at the 16+ frets. The 5-star adhesion is due to the fact that the tape adheres strongly, but is easy to remove without leaving any residue. An added benefit is that the band itself is quite strong and can handle the full range of erasers from 140 to 2000 grit without wear.
