Description of Palace Shu Pu-erh "Old Tree" (Lintsang, 2018, 200 grams)

Taste: sweet, rich, voluminous, with a smooth texture. The bouquet reveals notes of cocoa, nuts with wine tannin nuances. Creamy chocolate aftertaste. The classic taste of quality Linzan Pu-erh from the trees. Action: well invigorates and tones, improves mental processes and mood. Colour: chestnut red. Palace Shu Puer "Old Tree" - Shu Puer of the Gunting or "Palace" class, was made from leaves of trees over 50 years old using traditional technology in 2018 and pressed in 2021. Palace means that a fine sheet with an abundance of golden buds, such raw materials are considered the best according to the technical Chinese classification. The fermentation of the tea leaf was carried out by one of the most professional technologists of our time. The tea garden where this Pu-erh comes from is located at an altitude of more than 2000 meters in the natural reserve of northern Yunnan - Lingcang, so the tea has a high amino acid composition, which translates into a sweet taste and a pleasant relaxing effect. Mostly in the Russian market, in the category of budget Shu Pu-erh, tea from plantation bush tea is presented, such tea is often fertilized, harvested several times a year, as a result, the taste of tea is empty and not tasty, unlike tea from trees, which is highly valued. We offer you organic tea from old trees with the traditional Shu Pu-erh preparation process impeccably executed. We recommend brewing tea with water at 95-98 °C in Yixing clay or porcelain. The required amount of tea leaves is 3-5 grams per 100-150 ml. water. Brew by pouring, in pour-drain, pour-drain mode, without leaving water in the brew. The first infusion is 5-7 seconds, after which the brewing time should be gradually increased. The method of pouring tea gives more than 1 liter of rich drink.

How could such a bad product be made?

In appearance, the pancake is decent, a deceptive impression, but the aroma from the pancake is the weakest of all pu-erhs that I have smelled in my life. A tea company with a beautiful name, but the lowest quality pu-erh of all. Probably the cheapest pu-erh that I took, but those that are 20% more expensive are many times better

Pros
  • Pleasant aroma from a heated kettle before brewing. It is very easy and neat to separate directly by hand, without a pu-erh knife.
Cons
  • 80% sticks, 20% leaf stumps. There is no taste. Any other pu-erh held from 6 straits, one was even 18 straits (a rare exception). This holds 2 straits, then it gets lost a lot, it’s understandable, because I’m brewing chopped branches.
