I am very happy with this camcorder. I could have paid twice as much but I don't think I would have gotten double the camera. It exceeded my expectations. The only downsides I can think of are that the colors could be more saturated and the battery life is only around an hour.

According to the pros, I sacrificed picture quality for ease of use. For those who don't know any better (and I don't), there is no sacrifice. I am very happy with my purchase as I wasn't willing to spend more than $500 for an HD camcorder. It's extremely easy to use and as a beginner, I or (more importantly) my wife don't need to use the manual mode, instead relying fully on the intelligent automatic mode.
