Excellent value for money

I bought this camcorder to use when traveling. This is my first SD/Flash based camcorder. Physically, it's very comfortable, fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, is very light, and has a fairly solid construction. The battery life is ok with the supplied battery, but an extended battery is definitely recommended for day trips. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the video quality when shooting in low light. Take my review with caution as this is my first camcorder. This camcorder takes amazing pictures in daylight/good indoor light, but video quality degrades in low light, which is to be expected from a consumer camcorder. The quality of the sound recording is amazing - I couldn't believe my home theater was playing 5.1 channel sound. I had an HD camcorder for a specific application but didn't want to pay an exorbitant price. I've also found great reviews of Panasonic cameras and this one is no exception.
