I'm not sure how widespread this problem is, but it's fairly common for CDs in less than perfect condition to even have "quiet stops" (as opposed to dropouts ) have when the player is not moving. I bought the SL-SX390 because of the great reviews. and yes, it worked very well for a while. No jumps, great battery life and great sound for the price! Except. It's a fragile animal.
