Very, very sensitive to brand new CDs; lots of silent "dropouts "

I'm not sure how widespread this problem is, but it's fairly common for CDs in less than perfect condition to even have "quiet stops" (as opposed to dropouts ) have when the player is not moving. Some CDs have visible scratches, some don't. I bought it used so maybe it's just my problem, but I've never heard anything like it, even on older CD players made by lesser known companies than Panasonic. On the other hand, my 1999 Panasonic that just died never had this problem, even with badly…

Poorly made?

I bought the SL-SX390 because of the great reviews. and yes, it worked very well for a while. No jumps, great battery life and great sound for the price! Except. It's a fragile animal. Unlike other CD players I've had in my time, this one just isn't made for the outdoors. It's not like I've dropped it repeatedly - it just fell apart with daily use. So, five months later I'm buying a new CD player because the little CD player is now slightly warped (how THAT happens in normal use I don't…

Almost indestructible

At first glance this might seem like a regular CD player with the usual features like extra bass, 48 seconds anti-skip and different playback modes, but there is a VERY useful feature, that it does a lot of good in the long run. MANUAL. I don't think this CD player advertises its indestructibility, but it's by far its best feature.
