I've been using powercaps in various colors for over 10 years since I first saw them at Lowes. When they get dirty from sweat and dirt and stink, I replace them. Of course they can be washed, but I've found that thin wires often break when washed or dried. I recommend using the Ballcap Buddy in the washing machine and then air drying to minimize damage.
