Description of 🔨 Park Tool 146297 Shop Hammer: Durable and Versatile for All Your Workshop Needs
100. Fiberglass shaft and soft touch rubber grip. Two-sided head—steel on one side and a replaceable plastic head on the other side. 13.5" long (345mm). Steel striking face: 1-3/8" (35mm) diameter. Plastic face: 1-11/16" (43mm) diameter.
Good: This is a Park Tool. Bad: Made in China. Sorry. Removed a star for that reason. Ugly: Item arrived slightly damaged normally used for - it is a hammer, it's used to hit nails, not to look shiny.
Nylon head, good for hammering on bar end caps without damaging the bar end caps or the handlebar. I guess a piece of wood or a book would have worked too, but then I'd need another pair of hands to hold everything straight while pounding on the forks. One of those tools you don't really miss until you have it.
Another quality product from Park Tool. Very strong with just the right weight to punch axles through bottom brackets. The nylon end (I think it's nylon) seems too heavy to use without damaging the finish, but I bravely tried it on my (old) Gossamer Hollowtech crankset and found it holds the finish very well. I'm sure the hardness makes it more durable which is good and it's replaceable. The rubberized grip is also comfortable and secure.
Good: This is a park tool. Lightly damaged. Doesn't affect what it's normally used for - it's a hammer, it's used for driving nails used does not look shiny.
