The L portion is not usable on RF

Although the L meter allows for fractions of microhenrys, it operates at near audio frequencies and is therefore unsuitable for RF toroids.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • boring packaging

Essential for testing, measuring and checking

Many components are difficult to read or have no value markings. Also, I'm color blind. So I use this to test almost every resistor and capacitor I use. It is necessary.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Damaged

Excellent test tool

When working with some RF circuits this has been the most useful tool I have bought in many years. I tested it against some known values and was very happy with its accuracy. Great tool!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

Fast, accurate, wide range

A bit pricey but usually good tester. One asterisk removed because going from automatic to fixed measurements and frequency selection is a bit complicated and illogical. A few more knobs and a few extra test frequencies would make this a near-perfect instrument.

Pros
  • Robust surface
Cons
  • Some bugs

Compact and accurate

Love it! Compact and precise. The main item in my electronics toolbox, used primarily to measure inductance in speaker crossover coils. Also used to measure capacitance anywhere. This device is hard to find in the US. Great addition to my electronic instruments, covering everything I need that my multimeter doesn't have.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • So far so good

Probably the best LCR meter under $200

I needed an audio electronics LCR meter and didn't want to pay $500 (or more) for a desktop meter. I saw this in a YouTube video and the price was right. Very good device for the price, has the same functions as the much more expensive counters. The only downside would be its small size.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • No instructions

Improved LCR40 - test, measure and verify

I already had an LCR40 which is good for reviewing reviews but I have an LCR45 for RF work. It provides comprehensive impedance data and operates at a higher frequency than other portable devices. The user interface has been improved as it now also stays in measurement mode for a while if the LCR40 asks you to press the button each time. This greatly speeds up sorting a batch of caps by tolerance.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Great product and easy to use

I like this device. I automatically measure inductance, capacitance and resistance. Just turn it on (in auto range mode by default) and it will measure the value for you. It also has many other custom settings. I've used it many times to measure the inductance of my salvaged coils, which isn't easy without an LCR meter. Thanks from the US to our smart friends in the UK. As an Anglophile, I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was built there.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I will write later
