Essential Outdoor Gear

I've used this a few times since I've had it and while it looks and feels good I wish it was a little thicker. I usually keep it rolled up and hang it in my stash. This is a great topic of conversation that gets a lot of attention. The memory of sitting in my camp in the morning under the sheltered warmth of this blanket, surrounded by majestic peaks will often hasten my next retreat into the wilderness. So grab your gear and don't forget to take this wonderful blanket with you for all your…

Great throw! - Linen

The blanket is exactly as described - a red Stuart blanket on a gray background. It's a litter, so it's unlikely you'll sleep with it. But it's perfect for extra warmth while lounging around the house. (I usually carry it on my lap or on my shoulders when I'm working in my home office.) It's wool, so not soft like a llama. But it's also not scratchy or uncomfortable in any way, at least for me. Love the straps - nice to see that real leather is still used in the product, there is something very

Perfect for an old-style picnic

I've had my eye on this blanket for a long time, and now that it's summer picnic season again I've finally decided to go broke. The size is perfect for a picnic for four or a little nap on a cold day. It's medium weight, thinner than fleece and not as big or thick as the rugs you would use for a bed but slightly nicer/softer than the rug I bought in Scotland for a comparable price. The real highlight of this model was the leather strap, which made it easier to carry. Sure, you could get a…

Best blanket I've ever had

BACKGROUND This is the first 'upscale' blanket we've bought to use as a sofa or outdoor blanket. I bought this as a Christmas present last year because I decided to invest in a nice comforter for the cold Michigan winters. PROS - Made in the United States - INCREDIBLY warm - VERY LIGHTWEIGHT - Nice/cozy color combos CONS - None (although I understand many people would be skeptical about paying $80-$100 for "just a comforter"). It is very light and still very warm. You'll never want to leave it…

The best blanket I've ever had

The best blanket I've ever had. I bought the color Metolius, it turned out a little darker than expected, the photos seem a little more contrasting. But the blanket itself is very high quality, super comfy and just the right size to cover legs to chin. I ended up buying a yakima thinking it would be the same without the tassels which were also not as colorful as expected but basically the yakima was much thicker than this blanket and felt more itchy against the skin. This blanket is 100% wool…
