The filter is used for a 40 g aquarium with a 25.4 cm turtle. The water is very clean, the circulation is excellent. Best of all, the filter material, including carbon granules, is easy to clean or replace.

I assume they are serviceable but they arrived in an open box and are scratched. The box was placed in a plastic bag. I think because the coal ran out. They weren't in new condition. I am not sure I will order from them again.

I am very happy with my purchase as it makes cleaning the aquarium so much easier! It didn't get any easier, I took the old one off and put a new one in its place. This is a must if you use a Penn Plax Cascade 300 water filter.

I have previously bought 6 Turtle Filters for $200-$50 and this is the only filter I recommend to all Turtle Owners, very powerful motor and easy to clean. I bought 2 of these for my 50 gallon tank and I have a huge turtle, the water has been looking clear and odorless for over a month and a half now. Will buy again.

Carbon cartridge for Cascade 300. Works great, lasts a long time. Easy replacement of the charcoal canister. You CAN open the top door when you have charcoal to refill the cartridge. Particle charcoal is too fine, but works in a very small bag. Charcoal granulated approx. Supplied with built-in extruded activated carbon. Suitable for a small aquarium with a Cascade 300 filter.

I was not satisfied with the purchase but that is not the fault of the product. I wasn't paying attention when purchasing this product and ended up buying a size too small for my filter. So if you're looking for a replacement, make sure you get the right model and size. I would return it if it wasn't. t because my smartass opened the product packaging before I compared the filter sizes. Lesson learned.

on each cartridge, at the top there is a tab that can be opened. You can reuse a plastic container by emptying the old dirty charcoal and filling it with new charcoal. Buy bulk charcoal online or at any pet store. much cheaper than buying these cartridges new. So far I have not had to use the second cartridge in the pack as the first is still in use after several replacements.
