something for oil system tools

might work if oilers don't torque filters to godzilla spec. In other words, it's squeezing rather than twisting, and the 1/2-inch steel box is slightly larger.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Doesn't fit all

Elegantly simple solution

Elegantly simple solution for hard-to-reach places. In my case, I used this product to remove a pool skimmer vacuum hose adapter that was defying all other attempts at removal. It also worked great under water.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some problems

Superb wrench, the best of tools and gadgets

I bought this to use on my bike to remove the cassette. Works great for that. I also bought the Amazon Warehouse option for used like new. I can't say it's ever been used and saved me a few bucks. nothing to like

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons

Terrible Design: Oil System Tools

Not as shown. You have to hold the chain when applying force and the handle is not as long as it looks in the picture. The chain sits on small pins as part of the handle to hold the chain. This design has too much slippage making the product unusable.

Pros
  • It's OK!
Cons
  • Expensive

Performance Tool W173C Heavy Duty Multipurpose 6 " Oil Filter Wrench

Don't waste your money on this junk. The strap actually slides around the filter without loosening it. The outlet itself is actually just over 1/2 inch. It slipped off every 1/2" adapter and ratchet I had.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Good enough for tools and equipment

I found that the band material stretched too much during use making it difficult to tighten it around the filter element and then pull it far enough that the filter tips over. The material does not stretch in the hand. Nevertheless, it worked and the price is right. Rabe delivered quickly. I ordered it for use on the go, so it will remain a backup tool in favor of an older one I had years ago.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

works amazing! for oil filter wrench

great product! When I first got it, I thought it would break on the first use. but it actually drew a streak on it when I turned it over and immediately removed the filter. This is the easiest to use filter strap wrench I've found. It won't break your knuckles trying to lift the handle in the tight spot these filters often find. Just use a 1/2" ratchet and an extension and you can leverage to break those stubborn ones!

Pros
  • keeping my fists
Cons
  • hard to say
